Cost is only half the calculation
A cheaper system is not always better if it produces less useful electricity. A higher quote is not always worse if it includes better hardware, a more complex roof, a larger system or battery storage that genuinely improves the household's savings.
Solar ROI treats cost as one side of the equation and useful annual benefit as the other. That means the same quote can look strong for a high-use home and weak for a low-use home.
Costs that should be visible in a quote
- Panel and inverter specification.
- Scaffolding and roof access assumptions.
- Battery capacity and usable capacity.
- Monitoring hardware and commissioning.
- Warranty terms and workmanship cover.
- Any finance cost or monthly payment assumptions.
